Start here: MOQ, response, and files

  • MOQ: 1 piece — prototypes through production.
  • Response: With a complete RFQ (CAD + key requirements) we typically reply within one business day.
  • Preferred files: STEP (.step / .stp) plus a marked 2D PDF or DWG for tolerances, finishes, and datums.
  • Also accepted: IGES, DXF, SolidWorks, and common archive formats on the RFQ upload form.

Ordering, MOQ, and lead times

What is your minimum order quantity for CNC machined parts?

Our standard MOQ is 1 piece. You can order a single prototype, a pilot batch, or production quantities. There is no minimum order requirement beyond the parts you need.

Do you offer discounts for larger quantities?

Yes. Volume pricing reflects shared setups, fixtures, and toolpath efficiency:

  • 1–5 pcs: Prototype baseline
  • 10–50 pcs: Typical step-down vs prototype
  • 100–500 pcs: Further unit-cost reduction with dedicated scheduling
  • 1000+ pcs: Contact us for volume pricing and release planning

Exact breaks depend on material, finish, and inspection scope — confirmed on the quote.

Can I order a single prototype and then ramp to production?

Yes. CAM programs, fixtures, and quality plans developed for the prototype can be reused for production so dimensional intent stays consistent when the geometry and material stay the same.

What is your typical lead time?

Typical ranges are 3–10 business days, depending on complexity, material stock, finish, quantity, and capacity:

  • Simple milled/turned parts (common aluminum or steel): often 3–5 business days
  • Moderate multi-axis / tighter features: often 5–7 business days
  • Complex 5-axis or specialty materials: often 7–10 business days
  • Rush: 1–2 business days when material and capacity allow — confirm at quote time

We do not unconditionally promise a ship date before material and capacity are confirmed.

How do you handle urgent orders?

Mark your required date on the RFQ. When feasible we accelerate programming, machine allocation, and shipping. Feasibility and any expedite cost are confirmed before you place the order — not as a blanket guarantee.

Quoting and file formats

How do I get a quotation?

Upload your 3D CAD (STEP preferred) and a 2D drawing via /free-quotation/, or email [email protected]. For assemblies, a BOM or assembly drawing helps. With a complete package we typically respond within one business day; complex multi-process jobs may take 1–2 business days.

What information makes a quote accurate?

Include as much of the following as you can:

  • Material type and grade
  • Quantity
  • Surface finish / treatment
  • Critical tolerances (or state general ±0.10 mm / ISO 2768-m for non-critical features)
  • Target delivery window
  • Inspection needs (standard check, FAI, MTR, CoC)

Missing items slow the quote or force conservative assumptions.

Is quotation free? Will my design stay confidential?

Quotations are free and no-obligation. Design files are limited to engineers assigned to your project. We will sign an NDA on request before you send files — email your agreement to [email protected] or attach it with the RFQ upload.

What CAD formats do you accept?
  • STEP (.step, .stp) — preferred for 3D solids
  • IGES (.iges, .igs) — complex surfaces
  • DWG / DXF — 2D drawings and flat patterns
  • PDF — reference drawings and notes (not the sole dimensional source)
  • SolidWorks (.sldprt, .sldasm) — native files accepted

Recommended practice: 3D model for geometry + marked 2D for tolerances, finishes, and datums.

I only have a 2D drawing. Can you manufacture from that?

Yes, if the 2D drawing is fully dimensioned. Complex 3D contours usually need a solid model for efficient toolpaths. We can discuss reverse-engineering from a drawing or sample when needed.

Capabilities, finishes, and quality

What services do you offer beyond basic CNC machining?
  • Free DFM feedback before production
  • Reverse engineering from samples or sketches (when scoped)
  • Finishes coordinated when ordered: anodize, passivation, powder coat, blast, plating, laser mark, and related processes
  • Sub-assembly / kitting with purchased hardware
  • Packaging and labeling to your spec
  • Specialty alloys and plastics with certs / FAI packages when specified on the PO

Can you handle multi-process jobs with documentation?

Yes. Many robotics, medical, and aerospace parts need machining plus heat treatment, finishing, and documentation such as FAI (including AS9102-style packages when required), MTR, or CoC. Scope and paperwork must be stated on the RFQ/PO — we do not assume every job includes every certificate.

What if I’m not sure the design can be machined?

Send a sketch, model, or description. We provide a free feasibility / DFM review with practical options for cost and lead time. There is no charge for this consultation.

What tolerances should I expect?

Unless the drawing says otherwise, standard delivery is typically ±0.10 mm. Tighter milling/turning limits (including ±0.01 mm on selected features) and critical ±0.005 mm on designated 5-axis features are capability claims confirmed via DFM. Plastics are typically about ±0.05 mm unless reviewed. Details: Precision & Tolerance Standards.
